She took her tunes
to the Queen:
Her Majesty
listened
in the usual gracious way
but she was deaf
to the voices of the worker bees,
simply
tapped
this songstress on the shoulder
as she curtseyed
and touched her forelock,
prostrating her craft
in front of Her Royal Highness
for all the World to see.
All the World
with all its own songs.
