YOU ARE THE DRUNK
You are the drunk who does not tell the truth;
a drunk man who cannot see the thistle.
You are drunk with your fat mouth,
drunk with the power of your own voice,
drunk with a bladdered influence,
drunk flat on your hack’s back.
You are drunk with sober committees,
drunk with pissing minutes,
drunk with a rat-arsed Culture,
drunk with a blinding self-importance.
You are drunk stupid with your own esteem,
drunk with bloated righteousness,
drunk with your stuffed belly,
drunk with a staggering certainty.
You are the drunk who does not tell the truth;
a drunk man who cannot see the thistle.
